Other Information
Parents can have access to a variety of documents. Please contact the school
and arrange to see the headmaster.
Policies and documents include:
OFSTED reports, DFES circulars, schemes of work, your child's records, National
Curriculum documents, Annual Report to the parents by the Governing Body and
minutes of Governing Body meetings.
Friends Association
The school is very fortunate to have a thriving Friends' Association. Any
parent is very welcome to join. Regular fundraising activities are held
throughout the year and all the monies raised go to help your child. For
example: Summer Fayre, discos and non-uniform days, etc.
However the main aim of the association is to provide opportunities for
parents, children, staff and governors to take part in community activities.
Parent and Toddlers Group
The group started in 1994 and caters for 30 children and their parents. The
group provides the opportunity for parents who might find themselves isolated at
home with very young children, to get together for a chat and a cup of
tea/coffee. It also provides the resources for activities in which parents and
children participate together, e.g. painting, cooking, using small P.E.
apparatus and working models.
A small charge is made for each session - this includes drinks and biscuits
for children and parents and the use of all apparatus and resources. The group
meets in the school gym on Monday and Thursday mornings (term time only).
Nursery Education
We have a well staffed 30 place nursery which enables 60 three- to
four-year-old children to attend for half a day, five days a week.
The nursery and reception age groups have been put together under the title
'Foundation Stage'.
A separate booklet detailing this development is available from the school
secretary.
School Meals
Children staying for school dinners must bring their money on Monday morning
or the first day back after a holiday or absence (envelopes are provided for Key
Stage One children). The cost for a week is £6.40. The money is collected
at the start of the week.
Children staying sandwiches should bring their lunch in a secure box. Drinks
should be in a sturdy container, but not glass please. The boxes are stored away
from the classrooom during the day - any biscuits, crisps or fruit brought for
morning break need to be in a separate container.
Snacks at Breaktime
Children receive free milk up until their 5th birthday. After that milk money
is required. The cost is £6.05 per term. Please send the money to the school
office during the first week of term. Once your child reaches 5 the remainder of
the term will be calculated at 41p per week.
KS1 children can purchase biscuits for 40p per week or they can bring their
own drinks and biscuits if they wish.
All children in Foundation/Key Stage 1 receive a piece of fruit each day.
At mid-morning break, Key Stage 2 children are allowed to bring biscuits,
crisps or fruit to eat, but they don't need sweets or chocolate!!
Breakfast Club
The club is open to pupils and parents and starts at 8.15 every morning in
the dining room.
After School Club
We run an after school club for children of working parents. Please contact
the office staff for further details.
